Why Poland?

Poland now ranks among the world's most visited countries. Located in the heart of Europe, it is a paradise for lovers of natural beauty. Poland is blessed with a breathtaking variety of landscapes including famous beach resorts on the Baltic Sea, the picturesque "Lake District" of Mazury in the northeast of the country, the spectacular mountain scenery of the Tatras and the highly protected biosphere area of primeval forest of Bialowieza National Park which is home to plenty of wild game and European bison. However, Poland also provides a fascinating destination for those who admire remarkable architecture, world-class historic monuments, artistic masterpieces, romantic castles and beautiful pilgrimage sites.

Poland has 12 sites included on the UNESCO World Heritage List and 23 greatly valued National Parks. The most famous and much loved cities on the Polish tourist route are the capital city Warsaw: the old capital city Cracow with its historic and beautiful Royal Castle and Market Square; Gdansk, on the Baltic Sea; Malbork, famous for its large and spectacular castle; Wroclaw, formerly known as Breslau and Czestochowa, which its historic monastery containing the world famous icon the Black Madonna.

Warsaw's Tourist Attractions

Warsaw is an interesting, modern European city, but rich in remarkable historical monuments, artistic masterpieces and many parks, which are quite spectacular in autumn. It is a city with an enchanting atmosphere, where you can enjoy a delicious meal in a stylish restaurant, listen to live music and admire architectural masterpieces. There are many tourist attractions really worth seeing: the Old Town, which is included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, the beautiful Royal Castle, which houses a splendid collection of paintings, the magnificent Lazienki Palace and Wilanów, a superb example of Baroque architecture.

Warsaw's history can be appreciated by visiting the Jewish Cemetery, the Monument of the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto and Nozyk Synagogue, the 19th century Citadel fortification and the historic Powazki Cemetary containing beautiful sculptures and the tombs of many famous Poles.

Warsaw boasts many interesting museums and art galleries e.g.: the Frederic Chopin Museum, the Museum of Caricature the only one in Poland, the Gallery of Contemporary Art, exhibiting the works of many international artists, and the Motoring Museum with the cars dating from 1930 as well as cars owned by Elvis Presley.
